CSK VS KKR IPL 2025: Kolkata Knight Riders Cruise to Eight-Wicket Victory Over Chennai Super Kings at Chepauk

In a dominant display at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Friday, April 11, defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) handed Chennai Super Kings (CSK) their fifth straight defeat of the season. The match saw KKR comfortably chase down a modest target of 104 runs in just 10.1 overs, climbing up to third place on the IPL 2025 points table.

CSK, led by veteran MS Dhoni, came into the match struggling with four losses in a row and were desperate to turn things around. However, their woes continued as they failed to pose a serious challenge to the KKR outfit, sliding further down the table to ninth place.

Chasing a low total, KKR openers Quinton de Kock and Sunil Narine got off to a flying start, putting pressure on the CSK bowlers early in the innings. De Kock contributed 23 runs, while Narine was particularly aggressive, scoring a quickfire 44. Although Anshul Kamboj and Noor Ahmed managed to break the opening stand, KKR’s middle order remained steady.

Captain Ajinkya Rahane (20* off 17 balls) and Rinku Singh (15* off 12 balls) ensured there were no further hiccups, steering their side to a comprehensive victory.

This match marked an unfortunate milestone for CSK – it was the first time in IPL history that the team has lost five consecutive games. It was also their third consecutive home loss at Chepauk in a single season, an unprecedented low for the franchise known for its fortress-like home ground.

With momentum firmly on their side, KKR look to continue their strong form as the tournament progresses, while CSK face mounting pressure to regroup and revive their campaign.
